Matt Silva

NOC Owner & Club Director

Thanks to Mrs. Hedberg Matt Silva started playing volleyball in junior high at St. Pancratius. His passion for the sport grew at St. John Bosco High School where Silva was an all CIF and earned MVP of the Del Rey League. He also played on the Lakewood Dream Team that represent all of the Los Angeles Unified School District. Silva would later return as head coach of the boy’s junior varsity and assistant coach of the varsity teams at St. John Bosco High School where both teams won league championships.

Silva attended Long Beach City College and his team earned their place as state champions four times. He transitioned to co-head coach for the college, was named coach of the year and his team won the state championship.

Silva also worked with some colleagues to start a new boys volleyball program in the Fullerton Unified School District. “It was an amazing experience to provide a path for young kids interested in the game. We provided these athletes a chance to start playing volleyball at a young age and have a chance to play in college.”

Silva’s new personal and professional goals are to raise a family in the same community he works in, and to provide the children of Orange and Riverside Counties the opportunity to learn and play this amazing sport. Silva has been the head boys volleyball coach at Canyon High School since 2019 and he opened NOC to achieve this mission. “NOC is not just a business to me but a calling . I have loved coaching volleyball since I first started and am grateful to be able to pass on what I have learned to the youth in our community.”
